FRIDAY 29TH MAY

Good morning Class!

We keep on revising and it's time for unit 3 now.
Is there anything you don't understand?
Do you need help at some points?
Please tell me and we will have an online video-lesson.

UNIT 3 is about planning holidays. That's why the grammar is about the FUTURE.

On page 168 you have the GRAMMAR APPENDIX. Please take your time to revise it carefully. We have learnt three different FUTURE TENSES:
  1. BE GOING TO
  2. PRESENT SIMPLE (for future use)
  3. WILL
  4. PRESENT CONTINUOUS (for future use)
  5. FUTURE CONTINUOUS
If necessary, make a summary or diagram of the form and use of these different types of future.

You task is UNIT 3 in your WEBBOOK
The deadline is next Monday 1st of June.

¿Tienes dificultades? ¿No entiendes algo? Mándame un correo y te lo explicaré personalmente por videoconferencia.

GOOD LUCK

TUESDAY 26TH - THURSDAY 28 TH

Good morning class!

During this last week of May we are going to keep on working on our WEBBOOK.

Remember that you have to do all the activities in each Unit:
  1. Vocabulary practice (one activity)
  2. Interactive Grammar (three activities)
  3. Speaking (two activities)
  4. Dialogue Builder (two activities)
It's the turn for Unit 2.

Do you remember when we learnt about ACHIEVEMENTS? You spoke and wrote about your classmate achievements using the
PRESENT PERFECT SIMPLE and the PAST SIMPLE.

It's important that you revise the unit before start doing the activities. It will refresh your mind about all the work we've done.

Don't forget the two sets of vocabulary we studied:
  1. ACHIEVEMENTS on page 22
  2. ACTIVITIES on page 26

Once you have revised, you'll be ready to start with your WEBBOOK.

Remember you must get all answers correct. Try until you get it, but think well before answering because you have to get it with the less number of attempts.

The deadline for WEBBOOK UNIT 2 is next
Thursday 28th.

GOOD LUCK

Good morning class!

Unit 6 is finished and we are going to revise all the work we have done during this school year. Si it's time for REVISION.
Our main tool for revision is going to be the Interactive WEBBOOK:

This week we are going to work on two Units:

               GETTING STARTED
              UNIT 1

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Revise the contents of the unit before starting.
  • Do the activities until you get all answers correct. Try as many times as necessary, but think well before answering: the less the attempts the better the mark.
  • Do not start a new unit until you have finished the previous one.
  • It's not necessary to send photos: I can see your scores in my computer.

I'll also give you a speaking activity per unit. So be attentive to the blog or better subscribe to get you notifications.

THURSDAY 14TH - FRIDAY 15TH MAY 2020

Good morning class

How fast weeks pass!!!

I have realised that your pronunciation is improving a great lot!!! Your recordings of the GREAT AMERICAN SLURP have shown me that you are even able to use an American accent, and that's great!!!
So, please, if you haven't done it yet, record your voice and send it soon.

And we are about to end this unit. What shall we do afterwards? Just revising first and second term units.

A good opportunity for those who didn't pass and want to retake it (recuperar).

But we have to end this unit first.
We are going to do the activities on yellow page 84:

And the activities on WEB BOOK unit 6.

Please, do all the activities as many times as possible until you get the right answers. Try to give the right answers at the first try (you may use a dictionary).
Do not leave exercises with wrong answers, because I'll use them to evaluate you.

You have until next Monday 18th evening to do these activities.

ENJOY.

She's telling us about her experience as a Chinese in the USA. It's a funny text.

Good morning class!

It's time for a writing. Yes, the writing on page 80.

First we will do activities 1-2-3. It's important that you read the chart  at the beginning of the page:

FACTS AND OPINIONS

FACTS:                (hechos) can be true or false
OPINIONS:          Can be supported with facts

To indicate that something is an opinion we start with expressions like:
  • I THINK
  • I FEEL
  • IT SEEMS
  • IN MY OPINION

FACT:          She is his girlfriend (I know it)
OPINION:   I think she is his girlfriend (I'm not sure)

Do activities 1.2.3

Write a letter asking for advice. Think about a problem you or a friend of yours may have and ask for advice. (minimum 80 words)

When I get your letters, I will send them to another students in class so they write and answer with some advice for your problem. But that will be next week.

 Deadline: FRIDAY 8th.

TUESDAY 5TH WEDNESDAY 6TH MAY 2020

Good morning, class!!!
Here we are again after this long weekend.
It's been great to go outside and do some sport 🚴.
Today we start a four-working-day week, and soon it'll be Friday again.

Well. You've learn a lot of vocabulary about RELATIONSHIPS and PERSONALITY.
You've learnt to use some modal verbs ( SHOULD - MUST - HAVE TO - NEED TO - CAN - COULD - BE ABLE TO - MAY - MIGHT).
You've read texts and listened to conversations about friendship and now it's time to SPEAK.

Please watch these videos, take notes and use the vocabulary and expressions in your speaking:

Here is a twenty minutes talk about friendship. You can activate the automatic subtitles in English:

And here is the audio of  PAGE 79 EX 9 🎤. I think it can be very useful to improve your pronunciation. Repeat these sentences once and again until you sound natural.

On this occasion you won't have to write anything, just speaking.

PAGE 79 EX 10: SPEAKING

I expect a really good job. You can do it with a friend online, with somebody in your family or just by yourself.  Please, change roles. Enjoy

Deadline. Wednesday evening! (two days for a speaking: not bad)
